Got my 2008 D40 Aventura last early summer, had a few easily sorted issues and I love it. It is brilliant for the use I put it to - towing the caravan and with the snugtop on the back I can take my 'shed' with me without getting grief from the Mrs. There is one lingering issue though that I hope someone can advise me on. My RV mirror does not auto dip and there are no LEDs illuminated. It appears to have the two LEDs but no power button in between. Because of the privacy glass rear vision is not great any way(dark) so I am not too worried but curiosity is getting the better. Should these LEDs light up or are they just a non functional detail? Sorry if this issue was answered elsewhere, I have found reference to it but no definitive answer, thanks all.... :cheers2:

I think the red LEDs you mention are actually the sensors for the auto dim function? Probably because the cab is dark inside, you won't notice it change. I've got a hard top on mine and the mirror never seems to alter. Suppose you could try shining a torch at it and see if anything changes.

I might go try that on mine now... :D

It doesn't really go dark more of a tinting when a light hits hit, try shining a bright torch at it with engine and lights on..

My led is always on when I start the truck, I tend to push the button which turns the led off, turning it off I guess, as I can't see a thing out rear view with the snug top on any way!

Mine has no LEDs but if I sit with the interior light on the view behind is noticeably darker

If you drive at night with someone behind you you will see that the headlights behind appear dimmer than in the door mirrors. If it is working!
Personally i don't think I use the rv mirror much anyway.
This works for me. At night, the lights in cars behind me are a lot dimmer in my rear view mirror than In my side mirrors.
