Please Help!
i have a permanent fault on the dash, a red eml light. Showing no fault codes in engine, abs or air bag. The other issue which has occurred is the brake pedal is feeling spongy. This has all happened since the clutch was replaced, to my knowledge the clutch didnt need to bled therefore the reservoir didn't need topping up. Have tried bleeding the brakes and clutch but to no avail. I cant find any info on the red eml. If anyone has any info please let me know. Many thanks

Liam

Sorry should have added more info. A 2007 outlaw, 80,000 miles on the clock. The clutch was replaced at local garage. I also have reasonable knowledge. I just dont see how this light can stay on with no faults after removing a gearbox

OK Liam,

Apparently it is very easy to damage the Crankshaft Position Sensor when the clutch is changed. This is most likely the problem with your EML.

I suspect the garage have also allowed your clutch fluid to leak allowing air into the system. It is very difficult to bleed again unless a vacuum or pressurised bleeder is used.

The upshot is, get your garage to fix the faults they caused.

Good luck and get back to us with the results. :fingersx

ok problem solved.
some how the brake fluid had got hot within the brake pipes. my guess is the battery was not disconnect and the starter shorted. so in bleeding through the brake system we got a good pedal again.
This did not solve the issue in having a red eml on. what we found was a plug coming out of the wiring loom behind the fuel filter, not connected to anything and not sure what it is actually used for. basically the 3 wires going to the plug had melted to a brake pipe. thankfully very easy to sort.

I have the same unconnected plug (non melted  ), it's been like that from new so i guess it's not required :dunno

As Biggis sais the plug isnt connected on alot of navaras, not sure if it would go to the fule filter on the ones that have the water in fule warning lamp,
Sounds strange that the plut has been melted I would be getting back to who ever changed the cluctch and ask then what they have been up to, there could be al sorts of electrical damage
