Since fitting the hardtop to the truck a few weeks ago, the wife now thinks its now like a HGV to park
Can anyone recommend a set of good reversing sensors (that dont cost the earth) that suit the Navs metal rear bumper?
I have had a look around Ebay, but have heard loads of storys about poor quality, false readings and so forth......
What type have some of you fitted, and how have you found them to be in the real world ?

Funnily enough I've just spent the day fitting some of these to mine:

Seem to work ok and the silver sensors look good in the bumper, its dark now but will stick up a pic tomorow. The flip up display is excellent and look really neat when not in use.

The only problem i can see is because of the step the middle sensors are further apart than they should be, so not sure about accuracy with small objects like posts if they are central (picks up me walking towards it ok).

Hi Paul............looking forward to your piccy's.

How long did it take you from start to finish?......mind you i dont think i would do the job myself....... :cheers2:
Took me all day!!! Mind you its my first time taking a nav apart

Saying that I semi wired and tested it with the sensors taped to the bumper first as i wasnt sure they would work because the distances between the sensors are different to the ones specified in the instructions.

Ok ok to be honest I was scared of drilling holes in my new toy

Also ran a couple of extra cables from the boot to the cab for the alarm when it arrives :thumbleft:

I stuck mine on to my Ranger with clear silicone sealant - it holds well, gives you time to adjust them as it sets, means you dont have to drill holes - and you can get them off again when you get rid of said truck!

Thanks chaps :thumbleft:

BTW Tony the alarm arrived today. Cheers

just gotta fit it now (when it stops raining!!)

That looks good carts, dont look out of place on the dash either. Is the voice feature any good?
its not too bad to be honest (ok I love it), it means your not watching the screen all of the time, and I can still use my mirrors and even the rear camera...

I went for this one off ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LCD-TALKING-BUZZE ... 25569fc575
gives you distance on the display, talks to you (tells the distance) and shows which of the 4 sensors is getting the signals.

Carts , reading off the Egay ad , it says it read up to a distance of .6m . Does it read less than that for tighter spaces ?
