It has now had them replaced along with:-
conrod bolts
timing chain kit
sump pipe mod.
clutch release bearing
oil pump assembly
injectors tested

I would like to say thanks to Dave and his mechanics at Billcar for providing a great service :clappy:
Also a thankyou to JLS transport for taking my truck down to Shrewsbury.

Drove the car home yesterday which is about 200 miles without a rattle :dance:
Just wish i'd remembered the radio code cos i would have put it on and not like before the mods and driving with it off listening to the rattles

I'd say you have caught it in just in time, my 02 truck had done 70,000 and my shells were a lot better than that

I agree with jocmac on that one mate those rings are well scored and that only 33k worth :shock: You did well to do it when you did, you can drive with a bit of reassurance now :thumbleft:

Had to cross my fingers every time i drove it over the winter months as i didnt have the dosh to get it done.

I was talking to a guy at the weekend with a 04 plate and 60,000 on the clock. He hadn't heard of the problems with the engines.......Poor sod had just bought it n'all. No doubt we'll be hearing from him soon
