snaped key

Firstly :eek:ops
lifting a book case into the back I missed the tailgate lip and dropped it on the key hanging out of the lock sooooo.
I've snaped my key in the tailgate :slaphead so now i can't lock it and since I only had one key I can't open the fuel flap eather! And because the key is now jamed in the lock i cant get another cut :slaphead
fortunately I have a different key for the ignition so not urgent (well as urgent as half a tank of fuel will last)
So the question is if im geting one lock i may aswell get a matching set so if a get a lock set from eBay am I right I don't need any electronic parts for the ignition? as I'll use the remote from the remains i have and just swop the blade!
And can I just get a ignition barrel? Cos everyone on ebay selling them seem to be selling them attached to a large piece of steering lock/steering column!
Then is there any tips on forcing the fuel flap to change the lock

I d drill the flap lock ,(My D22 has a fruit machine lock on it,) or try hooking the forked securing clip off the back of the lock?
With a bit of modifying you could do away with the locks on tailgate and flap just fit solenoids wired to the door circuit .Na more worries over snapping another key
Cant see any problems with changing the blade and barrel if keeping the fob bit.

If you strip the tailgate lock, the barrel may turn in the case (as the snapped blade may still locate the pins) enough to pull barrel from its case and poke blade out then use it to get another cut ?

Update.
Had our mechanic at work look at it and he says "the key it bent inside the lock! I could get it out but would need to remove the lock and probably destroy it"
On a good note though he got the fuel flap open without damaging the paint!
since I previously had 2 different keys I was thinking abaout a new lock set anyway so just for a laugh I phoned nissan ÂŁ800 just for locks and keys (none transponder keys) me thinks not!
They also said it would be 2 hours labour to fit! So thought if they can do it in 2 hours it can't be that hard so was looking at this

Am I right in thinking that's everything I need to swop all locks

Can just the barrel be removed? Don't fancy dismantling half the steering column

There is a current post on here by leebut breaking a navara he might have a lock set?
Go for low mileage set, less warn ...

Also you may need sheer bolts from motor factors or stealer if you are changing the column housing.
I've sent him a pm but no answer as yet
His number is on there so probably give him a ring when the house is a bit less hectic lol
I was hoping to just change the barrel but don't know if that possible on these!
With my last car it was a 10min job! Turn ignition on push a pin in a hole and pull the barrel out same in reverse to refit!

Most barrels come apart from their housings in a similar manner, No1 position push pin as you described
