need to replace the oil seal since it seems to have been dripping a bit while sitting over the last few months.

I have a 32mm socket which is too small and a 35 which wont even fit in the opening. I'm guessing 34mm.

Can anyone confirm the correct size before I spend money?

Yup, I've been reading the manual. For this seal the manual only advises to check preload with a small torque wrench and after replacing the flange/seal add 0.5nm more preload (within the nut torque limits of 220-500lb/ft)

Problem I have, is that I have very little total preload to begin with, well less than the 2.3 or so advised and not even enough for a torque wrench to stand on its own, so best I can do is re-torque within limits until I register a slightly higher preload (or any!)

Hmmm, on sunday the axle went back on, so now sitting level and to be honest it hasn't leaked for a month or so, its just that over the course of the winter it developed a 15cm or so oils spot under it. I've checked the oil level with it sitting as it should (roughly) and I get a bit of oil dripping out. So theres very little oil leaked and it must have been ever so slightly over filled.

On thing it might be is the breather. It's been blocked off for my whole chassis work, so i'm taking a wild guess that any temperature change has pressurised the axle and pushed oil out the front seal with it sitting nose down.

Think i'll just re-attached the prop and move on!
