I read a comment on here yesterday where someone said "if we're not careful, all Navara's will end up looking the same"

To some extent I agree due to the lack of styling available "to buy", however this is where individual creativity comes in I guess. Only that way can one's beast stand out from the crowd. Having seen some awesome member trucks on here and reading the inspirational build stories, I am hoping to jump on the bandwagon of moddin my Nav.

Like most folk, I am frustrated at not having a couple of grand spare to do everything in one go, but one the other hand, where would the fun be in that so like most folk again, I shall be doing stuff as and when the wallet dictates.

My plans for my white 2010 D40 Auto are as follows:

Performance upgrades:

Straight through 3 inch stainless steel custom pipe with dpf removal and stage 2 remap to complement

Exterior Styling:

Stick with OEM 17inch alloys but repaint with high gloss black, with a detail of red pinstripe around the rim to separate alloy and tyre. Stick with current Maxxis Big Horns.

Paint front calipers and rear drum ferrari red caliper paint

De chrome most of the truck apart from roll bar

Remove Nissan logos back and front.

Fit black 4 piece satin billet grill supplied from the USA to front. Paint existing chrome grill shell high gloss black. Detail one of the horizontal bars of fitted grill with red pinstripe for that RR Autobiography style look. Paint high gloss black the black bits on bumper.

Colour code rear bumper by painting the chrome part and high gloss blacking the plastics.

Colour code lower front bumper bar with red detail to ends.

Paint high gloss black rear panel surrounding boot handle.

Fit black Navara stripe decals along sides at bottom of doors with red pinstripe detail above and below decals.

Two tone black and red racing stripes on bonnet, roof, tail. Still to decide whether to do top part of bumper or not.

Interior Styling:

Paint red:

the silver plastic trim parts to door panels, cup holder surrounds to centre console, silver trim to steering wheel buttons

Fit foot well red led lighting

Upgrade speakers

Fit remote start (as I'm sick of waiting half hour for it to warm up in winter)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm pretty sure that's everything I can remember.

Of course I shall post info of all the suppliers and garages that carry out work or supply goods.

Order of work to be carried out is adhoc, I know I'd like the exhaust and remap done this week but funds don't allow but I have fitted part of the racing stripes or as I prefer to call them, Muscle Truck Stripes to the bonnet which I'm please with (however the full Muscle truck effect doesn't really come through with the chrome grill, just not angry enough)

Hope you guys enjoy seeing it progress as much as I will enjoy doing it.

Thanks everyone

Craigy

Phase two of front end completed today as I did some work on grill today...after prepping it yesterday, it got the black gloss treatment today. Products used were Simonz matt black acrylic aerosol as base coat followed by 3 coats of 2K Mipa Aerosol laquer.

Nissan emblem got a twist of red vinyl here and there to tie it in with the theme.

Might give the billet grill piece a miss now.

Pleased with the progress so far although not sure if the headlights are standing out like a sore thumb?? Maybe some smokeyness???

Feedback welcome

Front end continued...

Well in between the sunshine and showers, managed to paint the grey part of the bumper in high gloss black, remove number plate holder and fit smoke tint to headlights..

Still not convinced the lower grey part shouldn't be colour coded white??? Opinions welcome

Another sunny Sunday afternoon dedicated to the truck (think my missus has started separation proceedings lol)

After looking at a gazillion images online last night, decided to cut my bonnet stripes to leave a white bonnet edge. Think it looks better now against the grill and the stripes don't seem like a "road" as much.

Also fitted stripes to the roof which was a humongous ball ache but glad it is now done. At least it will look complete if I am ever being chased by a helicopter :rockon

Is it just me or have you been striping on the nissan logo? If so, pic please? Love the way your white truck has become your own.

Thank you so much for the kind words. Yeah, I wanted to strip down the logo from being such a chrome blingy thing so played around with black and red untill I came up with this... Really happy with result. Back one to do in next few days

I know this is a boring question, but here goes. How do you get round the MOT without the dpf?
Very valid question. During the custom exhaust fitting, the dpf will be gutted out, leaving the casing. The ECU will be remapped accordingly preventing any dash warning signs. MOT will visually inspect but will have to give you benefit of doubt. And I guess going somewhere which is not overly fussy always helps ;)

I was hoping that might be your answer and that I'd not been given bad info when I'd had mine done. Must be getting old, just don't need the hassle anymore, relying on finding a sympathetic MOT station. I've heard you're right tho about, they should give the benefit of the doubt.8)
Yeah it could turn out to be a massive headache...Watch this space...I could regret it!!!

Love what you have done to the truck.

How did you paint the badge? Did you rub down then spray?
Thank you... Ongoing project of love :)

Yeah, sanded the chrome plating down with an orbital sander with 240 grit paper as it doesn't really matt down well by hand
Masked it accordingly, then sprayed a couple of coats of metal etch to give it more adhesion for the paint. Then solid black basecoat and lacquer.

It would have been easier to vinyl wrap it to be honest.

Side stripe decals fitted today with red pin stripe above.

Stripes bought off ebay for ÂŁ23.99 plus postage. Come in a range of colour and choice of Nissan or Navara as the text.

My Nav is really starting to get that sporty look I think now.

Looking forward to spacers arriving anytime this week (giddy)

To be honest, your white truck start to look awesome. Bear in mind I don't like white and I don't like bling. So for me to tell you I dig a white bling car is a bit the same as a dog likes cats. I know there are some dogs that like cats, but that's just plain weird.
Good job on the badge and the side striping.
Probably one of the kindest and funniest replies I've read....

Thanks mate hehe

Today was a great day... Spacers arrived safely from Italy.

Ordered form a company on Ebay. ÂŁ140 delivered for 38mm spacers in top grade Aluminium.

Really pleased with the transformation of the stance with these fitted. Kinda cool looking in the wing mirrors whilst driving and being able to see them poking out of the arches.

One thing to mention is to make sure your wheel nuts are long enough to fully tighten on the spacer thread. I had to go out and source some longer nuts.

Other than that, I would deffo recommend.

I'll add some more pics tomoz
