when i open my tail gate it rests on the bumper and leaves a scratch mark on it how can i adjust it so its not resting on the bumper, this problem has only recently started
what model do you have :study:
and welcome to the site :thumbleft:

Alun, you'll need to tell us what model you have D40 or D22.

I would think it is unlikely the tub has moved lower, is there a chance the rear bumper has hit or been hit by something causing it to become twisted?

Aye and do the honourable thing and introduce youself and your truck in the appropriate section.

have a look at the brackets holding the bumper on to the chassis you might be able to tell from any marks on the chassis if the bumper has been hit and moved up
if so slacken the bolts and drop the bumper down a touch

Hi alun
What you've got fitted there is a late model Toyota Hi-Lux stainless steel rear bumper sold by Powerful UK Ltd
Late D23's came without rear bumpers so this is an 'add on' and a replacement as the originals tended to rust out.
I've got one on mine and it also causes the gate to rest on the bumper plastic trim. I'm not worried as I often carry heavy stuff and this gives extra support.
If you want to adjust it lower, the bolt holes in the brackets are oval on the chassis and bumper, so slacken them and adjust as you want :thumbright:
If you need more adjustment then file out the bracket holes further
