If the timing chain is loose what type of noise will it make?. Because when i start the truck on a cold morning there is a loud rattle sound for afew seconds then gone and then a faint noise which sounds like a bit of plastic bag wrapped around the fan which stays there. Cheers

Might be the fancy alternator pulley playing up.

Easiest way to check would be to take off the alternator belt for a listen. When the pulley makes a noise, it is slipping so the red battery light and handbrake light come on together on the dash.landmannnn said:
