In the near future I am looking at replacing the timing chains, 170000 miles on the clock ,and was wondering the best place for supplying the timing gear locking kit.

Interesting question. Not known to fall, but of course they are a wear item so won't last forever.
Personally I would go for genuine parts or a premium brand such as SKF. It is often a good idea to assess the guides too.

Thank you for the responses, I have an oil leak somewhere at the front of the engine and a front bumper to repair, so while I have the front end stripped I thaught it might be a good idea to inspect the chains.
