hi all,

I started getting a 'whoosing'/'bearing' noise on saturday afternoon and its lost alot of power, struggled to get 60 on motorway uphill with an empty trailer, but eventually gets to speed, carried on drivng it, then sunday morning took intercooler off, checked egr pipe and valve wernt blocked, egr valve was clicking a little but pulled and pushed to free it up a little, then today ave taken intercooler off again, checked to see if there is pressure coming through intercooler and at the intake to intercooler end and there is, blocked egr off and slightly more power, then took lever from diaghram pump to waste gate off as was quite stiff, that now moves in and out and the waste gate opens and closes fine without any pressure but something is still making a noise and not quite the same power. would the bearings in turbo be on the way out?

Just a thought :scratch: check that the viscous fan hasn't seized as this will draw power and cause a whooshing sound :?:

cheers, will have a look when i can tomorow, is it an easy job to sort if it is that?

dont really want to spend much more on it, spent enough getting engine mods done two weeks ago!

If it turns out to be the problem its a easy job to do and part could be got from a breakers I'm sure. Give Thornton's on here a call if you need one :thumbright:
